Sharing what I experience and how you can possibly prevent it from happening to you.
A scam I personally experienced was through a TikTok Live. I was scrolling and came across this live where many people were bidding on nice pieces of clothing. I was bidding on shirts and everything seemed legit, they had many viewers placing bids as well! I ended up winning two shirts and of course the payment went through right away.When my package finally came, I realized they had only sent me one shirt. I messaged the seller about the missing shirt right away, but they never got back to me. Although, I didn’t spend much on the two shirts, I had still lost money at the end of the day, not receiving what I initially paid for. This made me question and rethink if this was as legit as I thought, they could be doing this to many people, the Live was very fast paced and the items were at a good price, first come first serve to those willing to pay the increasing price. I’d definitely advise to do definitely do some research, as anyone would, on the company or brand before making purchases online especially bigger ones, just make sure the site and company isn’t fake, my big thing is looking for reviews! In this case they did provide a few reviews but then again they didn’t have much, the more reviews available on a website provides you with more information on the product itself and other peoples opinions on the brand and product itself.

Some things I would definitely recommend would be to check the sellers page before buying especially on an application like TikTok. Make sure they have real posts and comments, along with reviews. Another thing I’d look out for would be the overall pricing and how they are running their live, moving fast pace and not keeping track of who’s buying is usually a bad sign, if prices seem to cheap for the quality again another sign that it’s too good to be true.

Thank you! It was definitely very frustrating but I’m glad I didn’t spend so much! They make it seem very legit and with everything moving so fast you can forget to check things. I’ve learned my lesson from this and similar experiences I’ve dealt with in the past, now I always make sure to double check reviews and sellers posts before making my final purchase .

It’s scary how fast AI is changing and upgrading on a daily basis. Although it’s a bit scary it can be interesting how AI can generate these adds to look and seem very real, making it very easy to scam and tricking people. Although, AI can definitely be used for good, all depending on how it’s done of course that’s why definitely be extra careful and double check these things to make sure they align with what’s being portrayed.

How can you tell reviews on a sellers post are real people ?

You can usually tell right away if the reviews are from real people by looking at the comments the provided on the reviews and the further detail they provide. Real reviews often include experiences with the product, how it fits, the material, and regards to how long shipping takes. Fake reviews are usually always very shirts and overly positive on the product, they can all sound very similar like “Great, love it!”. The big advice I’d suggest is to definitely look at the account of the reviews and weather it’s a real or fake account!
